Importance of Self-Care Everyday

“The most important relationship is the one you have with yourself” - Diana Von Furstenburg

Self-Care. This term has been on the circuit for some time, but since lockdown we’ve seen its status rise to serious heights. Have we only just given self-care’ the weight it deserves, or have we just had the chance to slow down, making space for things that really matter?

We brainstormed around this and came up with few everyday tips that will help you honor this concept, not only during lockdown but as part of a long-term action plan, too.

It’s Okay not to be Okay..:

We all have our days where we feel full of energy and sunshine and others where we just don’t feel so positive. Remember that it is okay not to feel okay. As humans we do make mistakes, have bad days, feel alone and can’t always be perfect. Always remember to do the best for you and be yourself, as beauty comes from withinand no one is perfect!

Pamper yourself when you feel like it not when you think about it.:

We often reward ourselves following something we achieved or done, but you should need a reason to pamper yourself. Sometimes the simple act IS the reward.

Practice Self-Care:

Self-care can come within many forms, it can be a physical, mental or emotional. Take a moment and thing what do you need in this very moment. Is it a cup of coffee, a walk at the park or maybe a hug? The best way to do this is to have a list of things that make you feel better split into 3 categories; Physical, mental and emotional. Trust us, it works! Through this, you can easily identify what you need at a given time, and what makes you feel better.

Beauty comes within but few products won’t hurt:

Buy that fragrance or mask you have been dreaming about. Treat yourself with a bouquet of flowers to bring some color to your cozy home.  Enjoy the small things in life :)

Call your loved ones:

Sometimes we look for comfort in people when we are at our lowest but also when we are at our best. It’s nice to share the highs and the lows. As we are currently separated from those we love, it’s nice to remember that there are ways to stay connected. Through technology, we have effortless access to our loved ones. You even can end up in Hawaii through a zoom call!!
